ROME (ITALPRESS) – The captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappé, has been excused by the staff of the transalpine team from taking part in the away match against Azerbaijan, scheduled for Sunday in Baku.

The Real Madrid forward is still dealing with recent issues in his right ankle. He is therefore not in top condition and will not play in the final European qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup. France, however, mathematically secured its spot in the tournament last night.
