ROME (ITALPRESS) – Ilkay Gundogan has landed in Istanbul and is ready to don the Galatasaray jersey. The 34-year-old German midfielder, born in Gelsenkirchen to Turkish parents, appeared beaming. “I’m very excited. I’ve always been a huge Galatasaray fan, as has my entire family. I’ve always followed the team, and this is a day of great pride for me. I’ve always wanted to wear this jersey: it’s been a dream of mine since I was a child,” the now former Manchester City player told reporters at Istanbul airport.
