Malta, Government plans Euthanasia Bill

VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Malta, Government plans Euthanasia Bill
Prime Minister Robert Abela has confirmed that the government will introduce a bill on voluntary assisted euthanasia—but only after carefully reviewing the large number of public submissions received during a two-month consultation period. The consultation focused on allowing euthanasia for terminally ill patients with less than six months to live. Abela said the government would not rush legislation. “Publishing a bill tomorrow would mean ignoring the submissions. That would be a disservice,” he told reporters.
