MANCHESTER (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – “I think winning tomorrow will require a perfect performance. We’ll give it a shot and do our best.” That is what Enzo Maresca told Sky Sport on the eve of the Champions League clash between Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for tomorrow. The coach highlighted the importance of the victory secured at Anfield against Liverpool in their last Premier League match: “It was important to win; it’s never easy at Liverpool. It felt great afterwards, but we were happy above all about the win.” Maresca acknowledged that “the situation surrounding the club is complicated right now,” though he added that the team remains calm. Regarding PSG, the coach pointed out the ongoing evolution of the squad led by Luis Enrique: “It’s a team that has constantly evolved, because that is something Luis Enrique is always inclined to do.”

City’s Italian manager also spoke about Gianluigi Donnarumma, the former PSG goalkeeper: “We played at Anfield on Sunday; I saw him yesterday, though I haven’t spoken to him yet. Gigio is always very positive and happy whenever we talk about PSG.” Finally, regarding the pressure and speculation surrounding the club, the manager clarified: “We know that a lot of people are talking right now and that many would like to see a definitive ruling against the club, but we don’t feel like it’s ‘us against the world.’ We try to focus on what we can do—which is simply try to win matches.”
