Santiago Gimenez’s father: “Negotiations with Porto are progressing”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “Santi is fine. They’re negotiating: Porto made an initial offer that Milan didn’t accept, but negotiations are continuing.“ Christian Gimenez, Santiago’s father, confirmed to Fox Sports that the Dragoes option for his son remains open. “It’s a great opportunity, which comes at a time that isn’t the best, after the year he’s had, with injuries,” he added.
“Many talk about Santi’s stats, but they don’t mention that he was injured for seven months… The fact that a team like Porto comes looking for you at such a difficult time is very positive. That’s what I tell them: it means you’ve done something good.”
At Milan, “it didn’t go as expected. It hurts, they were the dream team, but when something like this happens”—referring to the long injury layoff—”you don’t have the consistency you wanted, and when they then sign a striker for €70 million (Ramos, ed.), it’s difficult.”
According to “A Bola”, however, negotiations between the two clubs are currently at a standstill after the Rossoneri rejected the loan deal with an option to buy for €15 million, with Porto also considering other options.
