Africa Cup of Nations, CAS receives Senegal appeal

LAUSANNE (SWITZERLAND) – The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne has confirmed that it has received the appeal from the Senegalese Football Federation against the decision taken last March 17 by the Confederation of African Football. Regarding the latest Africa Cup of Nations final—won 1–0 after extra time by the Lions of Teranga—the CAF awarded a 3–0 forfeit victory to Morocco.
Senegal is requesting that the decision be annulled and that it be declared the winner of the competition. It is also asking for the immediate suspension of the deadline for filing the appeal until the CAF’s decision is formally notified with its full reasoning.
