Davide Ancelotti joins Brazil’s technical staff

RIO DE JANEIRO (BRAZIL) (ITALPRESS) – Davide Ancelotti, at least for the moment, continues to follow his father Carlo. The CBF, the Brazilian Football Confederation, has in fact made his entry into the Seleçao’s technical staff official and he will be alongside the coach from the next match against Paraguay, after missing his debut in Ecuador. Davide Ancelotti, 35, was close to the Glasgow Rangers bench for what would have been his first experience as head coach. The Scots, however, ultimately chose Russell Martin.

Ancelotti after his Brazil debut “My first as coach was special”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “It was a great defensive game. I think the team had the right attitude. We maintained good organization and, at times, good offensive pressure. In defense, I think we played very well. We practically didn’t conceal anything. That’s the positive side”.

Carlo Ancelotti comments on the 0-0 draw against Ecuador in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup obtained on the day of his debut as Brazil coach. “We could have done better with the ball, with a more fluid style of play, but I think overall it was a good draw – added the English coach of the Selecao – We leave satisfied and confident for the future”.

As for his first as coach of the verdeoro, “it was emotional. It was a very special match, my first as coach of Brazil. Considering that I have been on the bench for over 1,800 games, it was still something special.”

Real Madrid close for Mastantuono, the argentinian is ready for Blancos

Real Madrid close for Mastantuono, the argentinian is ready for Blancos

BUENOS AIRES (ARGENTINA) (ITALPRESS) – Real Madrid has put its eye and closed for the new jewel of Argentine football. Across the ocean they have no doubts: Franco Mastantuono, talent of River Plate and who last night became the youngest debutant in the Seleccion at 17 years and 295 days, will wear blanco.

Having beaten the competition of Paris Saint Germain, with Xabi Alonso who called the player directly to convince him. Mastantuono will sign a six-year contract while the agreement between the two clubs is still to be defined: Real Madrid could pay the full 45 million of the termination clause and have the player already at the Club World Cup or they could pay the same amount but insert bonuses and leave the Argentine talent at River until the end of the Club World Cup or even until December, allowing him to play the Libertadores with the Millonarios.

Political interest in Malta hits record low, especially among youth

Political interest in Malta hits record low, especially among youth

VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Public interest in politics in Malta has fallen to its lowest level since the State of the Nation survey began in 2021, according to the 2025 edition released today.

The annual report found that 33.5% of Maltese citizens are not interested in politics at all. This marks a significant rise in political apathy, especially among young people. Only 30.8% of respondents said politics is very important to them, continuing a downward trend. Among those under 25, that number dropped to just 19.8%.

The survey, conducted in May with 1,064 participants aged 16 and over, explored values, beliefs, and attitudes among the Maltese and Gozitan population. Just 27% of people said they form opinions based on their political party’s views, while 41.6% explicitly said they do not. Still, 79.2% support a party because it reflects their views.

Despite weakening engagement, 74.8% still plan to vote in the next general election, and most reject the idea that Malta’s two main parties are indistinguishable. Interestingly, while political interest declines, personal optimism is on the rise. A record 72.1% say they are happy, and 73.9% feel successful—both all-time highs in the survey’s history.

Chiesa wants Liverpool “I wouldn’t mind staying in red”

Chiesa wants Liverpool “I wouldn’t mind staying in red”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “The year is over. But it’s an experience that I would do again. Soon I will sit down at the table with the club, Fali (Ramadani, the agent, ed.) and my family to identify the best solution. I wouldn’t mind staying in Liverpool at all”.

Thus the former Fiorentina and Juventus striker, Federico Chiesa, in an interview with ‘Il Corriere dello Sport’. In recent months the 27-year-old striker from Genoa has been linked to half of Serie A, including Napoli.

“Have I ever heard from Conte? Never, Antonio never – Chiesa assures – I read that they placed me everywhere, but I have had no direct contact with anyone. Just a message of good wishes from Max (Allegri, ed.) at the beginning. He is great, in addition to having changed my position he made me understand the difference between a coach of top clubs and one of average clubs. Charisma, management, sensitivity and techniques that you don’t learn at Coverciano. Antonio, Ancelotti, Spalletti are like him. Max is someone who gives you a lot, with Milan he will immediately aim for the Scudetto”.
