Poland, Probierz “Lewandowski? I came to the conclusion that a change of captain was necessary”

HELSINKI (FINLAND) (ITALPRESS) – “After speaking with several players and members of the staff, I had time to reflect. I came to the conclusion that a change of captain was necessary. Making this kind of decision is very difficult. Lewandowski is an outstanding player – no one can take that away from him. But I felt a change was needed”. This is how the Poland coach, Michal Probierz, responded to Robert Lewandowski who yesterday announced that he would refuse calls from the national team as long as the current coach remains in charge.

“I spoke with Robert on the phone. After arriving in Helsinki, I met with Piotr Zieliński and discussed the captaincy with him. I called Robert at 21:16 Finnish time. We talked briefly. I told him I felt we needed to change something, and that Piotr Zieliński would be a better captain at this time. Robert responded by saying the captain’s armband doesn’t mean anything and that it wouldn’t change anything within the team. That might be true from his perspective. From mine, it changes a lot”, he concluded.

The ban was enacted through two legal notices, adding CC9, also known as HHC-C9, to the list of psychotropic substances under the Medical and Kindred Professions Ordinance and to the restricted drugs list under the Drugs (Control) Regulations.

The Forensic Analysis Lab at the University of Malta first flagged the substance in April, warning that CC9 was being sold in products marketed as synthetic cannabis.

Malta to boost renewable energy to 25% by 2030

Malta to boost renewable energy to 25% by 2030

VALLETTA (MALTA) (MNA/ITALPRESS) – Malta is on track to increase its share of renewable energy to nearly 25% by 2030, according to a new progress report from the Climate Action Authority on its National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP). This marks a significant rise from just 3.76% in 2013 and 15.08% in 2023. The shift is part of broader efforts to decarbonise Maltàs economy and curb climate change.

The Authority forecasts that emissions from power generation will drop by 77% compared to 2005, largely thanks to a second electricity interconnector and new large-scale battery storage systems.

In the waste sector, emissions are expected to fall by 59% by 2030, relative to 2021. This will be achieved through expanded sorting facilities, organic waste treatment, landfill gas capture, and energy-from-waste solutions.

However, transport remains the biggest emitter. While the NECP includes efforts to promote electric vehicles and mobility reforms, the Authority admitted more impactful measures are needed. Recent building regulations aim to increase energy efficiency and promote rooftop photovoltaics. Taller buildings must now include renewable systems, and incentives will encourage sustainable home purchases.

Permitting processes for renewables will be streamlined, and the commercial sector is urged to adopt greener practices.

Long-term decarbonisation will also benefit from offshore wind projects planned beyond 2030.

A national climate adaptation plan, currently in development, will guide Maltàs response to climate risks. It will be shaped by a Vulnerability Risk Assessment and public consultation. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive and fair climate action in line with EU goals.(ITALPRESS).

Mbappé “I would give the balon d’or to Dembele, club world cup is very important”

Mbappé “I would give the balon d’or to Dembele, club world cup is very important”

STUTTGART (GERMANY) (ITALPRESS) – France-Germany is a classic of world football. A game of great fascination, but ultimately it is only worth the 3rd place in a competition like the Nations League. It does not award titles and does not console much.

This explains why during Kylian Mbappé‘s press conference there was little space for tomorrow’s match in Stuttgart. Many topics were discussed, among the most popular was the Ballon d’Or, a trophy for obvious reasons very dear to the French.

“I would give it to Ousmane Dembelé – says the Real Madrid and France striker confidently -. Do I really have to explain the reasons? It seems clear enough to me. A lot will happen between now and when it is awarded, but at the moment people are talking about him or Yamal and between the two I would choose Ousmane”.

Clear in his decision, soft on his France, defeated 5-4 by Spain in the Nations League semi-final. “Our project is long-term, the goal is the World Cup, we are gaining confidence in the offensive phase, but we need to grow in the defensive one, we have many absences and we know that there is work to be done”.
