NEW YORK (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – One of the most iconic traditions in American sports is making its way to world football. In addition to lifting the FIFA World Cup trophy and receiving gold medals, the national team that wins Sunday’s final in New York will also be awarded a championship ring, similar to those presented to champions in the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL.

“In tribute to the tournament, these rings are part of a limited edition of 2,026 individually numbered pieces,” FIFA said ahead of the final between Argentina and Spain. Thirty rings will be awarded to the winning team, while the remaining 1,996 will be made available to fans around the world as officially licensed merchandise, giving them the opportunity to own a unique piece of FIFA World Cup 2026 history.

“One side of the ring will feature the FIFA World Cup Trophy, while the other side will be customized with the colors of the winning team. Each ring will be individually numbered, custom-made, and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

“Immediately after the final, the winning team’s captain and head coach will receive temporary rings to commemorate the occasion. Each of the 30 rings intended for the champions will then be personalized before being officially presented at a later date,” the statement added.
